Is permanent jewelry TSA friendly?

Yes, all the chains we offer are TSA friendly!

Will my jewelry tarnish?

Sterling silver will tarnish if it is not taken care of. Make sure to touch your jewelry every so often so that it doesn't oxidize when not properly sealed if not worn.

Gold may tarnish if its exposed to sulfur in water or the air. Chemicals in products may cause tarnishing as well.

How long does the jewelry last?

All chains can last many, many years if they are properly taken care of. They are not indestructible and should be cleaned often.

Do you have a return and exchange policy?

All sales are final once the chain is cut. We will gladly re-weld or fix your chain if it breaks off but cannot help if the chain is lost.

What is the black dust on my skin underneath my jewelry?

Metallic abrasion can be caused when lotions, make-up, and other hard chemical rub against your metal. This can leave a black soot like dust on your skin. This doesn’t mean the chain is low-quality but that it doesn’t like the products you’re using. You can wash off the black particles and your jewelry should be cleaned.

Can I take this off before surgery?

Yes, use a toe nail clipper or scissors and cut at the jump ring. When you’d like it back on, we will re-weld it at no cost.

Can I wear this in the pool or hot tub?

Yes, but be careful when exposing sterling silver to hot tubs as the heat and chemicals in the pool water may cause tarnishing if not cleaned afterwards.

Are your chains nickel free?

Yes, all our chains have been tested for nickel and are nickel free.

• Touch your silver jewelry often as it could oxidize if sitting in an open room without it being enclosed
• Body chemistry and chemicals from lotions, make-up, and household cleaners may cause tarnishing to begin if jewelry is not washed when heavily exposed to it
• If tarnishing, use one part dawn dish soap, two parts water to clean jewelry with the brush provided. Use polishing cloth to pat dry.
• If severely tarnished, cut the jewelry off and scrub it with a baking soda mixture. Rinse and dry, repeat if necessary.
• Baking soda paste mixture:
  
• Mix a small amount of white vinegar with baking soda to form a paste, then rub it on the silver with a soft cloth to remove tarnish. Rinse it off and let it air dry.
  

Gold

• Body chemistry and chemicals from lotions, make-up, and household cleaners may cause tarnishing to begin if jewelry is not washed when heavily exposed to it
• Jewelry is not indestructible, take care of it and it will take care of you!
• When gold is alloyed it can have different shades of yellow. Some manufactuers will plate gold over solid gold for gold filled chains as well. Once that gold plate naturally wears off, gold filled chains will have the solid gold color which can appear as more of a light gold color. Pure gold is slightly reddish yellow in color but, colored gold can look more yellow or rose in color depending on the elements used such as brass or copper.
